As a seasoned leader with 42 years of experience, I've learned that success often comes down to one simple thing: taking ACTION!

I recall my time on the submarine, USS MEMPHIS, where I was preparing for a six-month deployment. While others struggled, I took action, creating checklists, seeking guidance, and focusing on progress. This experience taught me the power of taking action, and I've carried this lesson with me throughout my career, achieving successful results. You can do the same!

If there's a secret to success, it's not just one thing. There are many possibilities, words, and ways to think. Others might try to sell you a specific system or plan, but it's not about finding that one magic solution. It's about what you can do. You do what you can, and that means taking action.

It's like when a movie director yells, "ACTION!" – the starting point for something extraordinary. Do you want to get what you want, create and complete your goals, solve problems, start writing a book, defeat procrastination, or overcome depression? As someone who values action and results, I want to share my top tactic for getting things done: ACTION!

So, what are some tips to help you take action? Let's explore three areas: overcoming obstacles, achieving goals, and getting better each day. My goal is to make this simple for you. I'll be the director of your life's movie, yelling "ACTION!" – and guiding you toward success and showing you some ways that one word helps in all situations:

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

  • ACTION defeats procrastination. Identify one task you've been putting off and immediately act on it.
  • ACTION silences self-doubt. Write down three affirmations that boost your confidence and repeat them daily.
  • ACTION breaks down barriers and ACTION solves problems.

ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS

  • ACTION brings desired results. Break down one large goal into smaller, manageable tasks and focus on making progress.
  • ACTION turns dreams into reality. Write down one big dream you have and identify three actions you can take to move closer to making it a reality.
  • ACTION builds momentum. Focus on one key outcome you want to achieve and create an action plan.

GETTING A BIT BETTER EACH DAY

  • ACTION builds confidence. Take on one new challenge that pushes you outside your comfort zone.
  • ACTION develops resilience. Practice self-care and prioritize your well-being. Celebrate your small wins and use them as motivation to keep moving forward.
  • ACTION unlocks potential. Invest in yourself through learning and personal development.
